On Listening to People’s Opinions
“Truth is you had a purpose before anyone had an opinion.”
Timothy Pina
There is this thing inside us that wants us listening to people’s opinions about us. We desperately want to know what people think about us, how they view us and we sometimes sneak and even stalk them just so can know. Sometimes it’s ok to get those feedbacks. But you cannot rely on the opinions of men to gauge whether you are growing or not, beautiful or not, whether you are important or not, and so on.
The feelings of most men about us change with circumstances. They praise us when everything is going well and drag us and even slam us and worst of all, even deny us when things are going south. You have to primarily trust and have confidence in your ability to analyze your situations and tell yourself the truth. You owe yourself the truth. If you are not doing well, own up to yourself, and make corrections.
Have a direction
It’s important to have a goal and a life purpose so you do not just swim in all directions. If you know where you are going, you will not be distracted by the side talks of men. There is always the option of seeking good advice, do not hesitate to seek good counsel when you need it.
The possibilities in life are enormous and it’s up to you to decide which direction you want to go. People may laugh and even throw stones at you but if your goal is a worthy one, keep going and don’t give in to their venomous words. The same people will celebrate and seek your friendship later.
We would love to have your own thoughts on this in the comment section. Thanks
