On Power and Leadership
“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.”
Galatians 6:7
Many people in positions of power are quick to forget how short power lasts. No matter how long you stay in power, it will come to an end one day.
You will see someone humble, sweet, and all nice but as soon as they are elevated to a position of power, they become something else.
Power is good when used in the right way but it can also be very dangerous when used in a negative way as it can hurt. The possessor can hurt many people without even realizing it.
The Illusion of Power
This life is short and power should be used with the understanding that the God who gives can also take away. The person you look down on as nothing today can be lifted up tomorrow.
Power should make you humble, reminding you that you were once a subject yourself. Take it easy, for you may need the very people you are oppressing today.
Do not misuse power in Leadership
Life has given you the privilege to serve others, do not waste it, for you may regret tomorrow all the good you should have done in that position. Do good always and do not set your eyes on the reward of men but focus on God’s reward which lasts forever.
