On Developing the Mind

On Developing the Mind

In 1989 the Berlin walls came crashing down marking the end of the industrial age and ushering in the computer age, the age of the mind. There is, therefore, the need to develop the mind in order to make it in this era. What do you feed into your mind?

Buddha said “to enjoy health, to bring happiness to one’s self and family, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind, he can find the way to enlightenment. Also, wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him”.

There is a need today for men of sound mind, men who have trained and developed their minds to think, create, and do the impossible.

Build Your Mind

Lou Holtz wrote, “virtually nothing is impossible in this world if you just put your mind to it and maintain a positive attitude”. Academic excellence is no longer the major criteria for job selection today.

Series of tests have been developed to determine mental capabilities and behavioral lifestyle. What are you doing to develop your mind today?

Earl Nightingale said, “Whatever we plant in our mind and nourish with repetition and emotion will one day become a reality”.

In developing the mind, Mark Shead enumerated some things you can start doing today to help. They are: learn to notice, listen to music, read well-written books, and learn a new language.

Also, play games in your head, avoid television, meet smart people, and seek out new experiences.
Finally, Napoleon Hills wrote, “what the mind can conceive, it can achieve”.
